The Spot UV Business Card Process

Premium 400gsm Card Stock - Your design is printed onto thick, high-quality 400gsm card stock, providing a substantial and professional feel.

Matte Lamination - The printed cards are finished with a smooth matte laminate, creating a sophisticated, non-shiny surface that provides contrast against the glossy Spot UV elements.

Spot UV Application - A clear, high-gloss varnish is digitally applied to selected areas of your design, such as logos, text or patterns. The UV varnish is instantly cured and hardened under UV light, creating a raised, glossy finish that contrasts with the matte background.

Precision Trimming - The finished sheets are precisely trimmed to your chosen standard or custom business card size.

ARTWORK

Option 1: Upload Your Own Artwork

Upload your own print-ready artwork when placing your order. We recommend supplying editable .AI or .PSD files. If uploading raster artwork, we recommend supplying it at 500% scale for the best print results.

For Spot UV Business Cards, please also provide a separate UV trace file showing exactly which areas of your design you would like to have the Spot UV applied to. This can be uploaded separately in the designated upload box, or included as an additional page within a multi-page PDF.

Your UV trace is simply a version of your artwork that clearly shows the areas you want to receive the Spot UV finish. For example, if you want your logo and certain text to have a glossy UV finish, the UV trace should clearly identify those areas.

If you don't provide a UV trace file, our team will select the Spot UV areas based on your artwork.

For the best results, we strongly recommend supplying layered artwork. This allows us to clearly separate the elements that should be printed from those that should receive the Spot UV finish. For example, text or logos that you want to have Spot UV should be kept on a separate layer rather than merged into the background.

Supplying layered artwork and a separate UV trace gives us greater control over the finished result and helps ensure your Spot UV design is produced as intended.

We will check your artwork and provide a digital proof for your approval before production.

Option 2: Let Our Design Team Create Your Artwork

If you don't have a finished design or need help preparing your artwork, our in-house design team can create your Spot UV Business Card design based on your ideas, instructions or existing branding.

Simply select the Design Service option, provide your ideas or instructions, and upload any relevant logos, images, examples or files to help us understand your requirements.

Our team will work with you to create your design and determine the appropriate areas for the Spot UV finish. We offer unlimited design revisions in relation to your brief and will provide a digital proof for your approval before production.
